I have a quick but exciting update on our AmeriCorps emergency fund program growth.
We're expanding from 11 to 15 states
Our team just wrapped up meetings with four new state commissions joining us: Louisiana, Georgia, Idaho, and Rhode Island. Each conversation reinforced something we've known from day one—when we create accessible emergency support, communities respond with incredible resilience and determination.
The numbers tell the story
Our national program launched less than two weeks ago and already has more than 3,200 applicants. From car repairs that keep someone in their service year to medical bills that would otherwise derail their commitment to community service—we're filling gaps that matter.
What this means
Four more states means new AmeriCorps members with access to emergency support when life happens. It means service doesn't have to end because of financial crisis. It means we're building the infrastructure that lets people focus on their community impact instead of worrying about making rent.
This expansion reflects something deeper than geographic growth—it's proof that when we create systems that actually work for people, communities want in.
More states coming soon. More members supported. More barriers removed.
Your commitment is to people. Ours is to building the systems that help you reach them. Let's get started together
